This church no longer exists as such, as it is now a private house.  Brobury village is tiny, and after the Norman Conquest was owned by Roger, who was the eldest son of Walter de lacy.  Walter was companion of King William l.  Towards the end of the 14th century, The Symour family were Lords of the Manor, and one of their descendents, Jane, was the famous third wife of King Henry VIII, and of course subsequently the mother of King Edward Vl.  Her brother married Katherine Parr after she was widowed by King Henry VIII.

One of Brobury’s Rectors was Francis Kilvert who wrote wonderful diaries about the life of Victorian people.
